Why donate...

Often people think that the churches and the life of the church in The 3B’s is paid for out of a big central ‘pot’ that something like the Government pays into; this couldn’t be further from the truth - The 3B’s has to be entirely self sufficient and depends on the generosity of its parishioners and patrons in and out of the parish.

The three churches in the Adur Valley (St Peter's, St Nicholas', and St Botolph's) are ancient buildings, all in constant daily use by many people in the valley. Unfortunately the three churches are very old and their non-stop use over hundreds of years has started a worrying deterioration. As a parish we are charged with keeping the buildings standing and in good working order.

To do so we must raise a quarter of a million pounds, and that's just the start. We need to stop the chancel of St Botolph's, a very beautiful Saxon church built in 950AD, from sliding down the hill into the river. Meanwhile, St Nicholas' church at Bramber Castle, the oldest Norman church in Sussex, is crumbling - and all sorts of measures need to be taken to stop that happening. Finally St Peter's church, the busiest of the three, requires urgent attention to the tower and nave.

This on top of the fact that to actually keep the parish running and staffed with a priest costs us £75,000 a year - Soon we hope that we will be able to give you a break down online of what our costs are - if you have a urgent request for these details please e-mail info@sussexparish.co.uk

How to donate...

There are many ways in which you could support us financially and however much you give us, by whatever method you choose, we will be so grateful for your generosity!

The black boxes above are ways that you can donate to The Parish. We suggest you have a look through each of them and see which one most suits you. You may want to give a one-off donation, or set up a monthy standing order. You may be an individual who quite likes a challenge and wants to have a go at fundraising for us, or you could be the supportive type who'd much prefer sponsoring one of our fundraisers!

Hopefully there'll be a donating method to suit you, but if there isn't you can ultimately donate to us any way you like!

That said, have a browse and if you have any questions email us donate@sussexparish.co.uk

Thank you in advance for your support, by helping us you are keeping over 1500 years of history alive!
